QAGTC Children’s Challenge offers workshops for the gifted aimed at providing invaluable opportunities for gifted youngsters to experience the excitement of extending their learning in novel and engaging workshops where they will mix with like minds and be encouraged to explore their potential.

Students are recognised as gifted when they can operate at levels of learning well above that which is normal for their age peers. Gifted education programs are designed to provide opportunities to engage with tasks achievable by students two years in advance of a gifted child’s chronological age.

Challenge registration is outside the library

Our Lady’s College is conveniently located in Annerley, just seven kilometres from Brisbane’s central business district.

The college is on Chester Road, just off Ipswich Road, which is well serviced by public transport.

Fairfield Train Station, located on the Beenleigh Line, is approximately a 15-minute walk from Our Lady’s College.

Exciting Program

Workshop options for Years P-3 and Years 4-6

Choice of 1 workshop for each day – 4 hours.

4-6 Halloween Special FX Workshop  – Phoebe Atkinson

4-6 Skittlebot – Build your own Skittle Sorting Robot  – Michael Dash

LOCATION

Our Lady’s College, Chester Road, Annerley

Our Lady’s College is located at 15 Chester Road, Annerley

Registration is from 8.30 am to 9.10 am outside the Library, access from Chester Road.

Parents are invited to attend a parent information session offered by the QAGTC President in the library on the day.

After registration, outside the Library, student/s to go to assembly area and if parents are staying for the Information Session please proceed to verandah area behind the library, on the deck overlooking the oval; have a coffee and wait for session commencement at 9.30 am.

For teacher and student safety, parents are asked not to go to assembly area, or into workshop classrooms please. Drop off and pick up is from the registration area outside the library.

Note if any parent or child is unwell, with respect to others, then please do not attend this event.

PRICING

Obtain Tickets

You need to refer to the Program and workshop details to know which option you wish to choose when completing the registration.

You will need to purchase a ticket for each child you wish to register. If you would like to register more than one child, you will need to select the same number of tickets as children. You will then be asked to nominate the name of each child for each selection. You will only choose one workshop per child per day in the appropriate age group.”

Please choose a workshop option for your child's level (either Prep - Year 3, or Year 4 - Year 6)

Add the correct number tickets for each day at either Member or Non-Member prices.  If the activity you plan to choose includes a levy, please add these to your cart. P-3 Clay Creations ($10), 4-6 Claymation (Monday - $6), Halloween Special FX ($30) Skittlebot ($15) or Travel Around the World ($8) add that levy ticket.

The P-3 Fairy Tales Workshop is a two day program and requires purchase of BOTH a Day 1 and a Day 2 ticket.

Proceed to checkout where you will  complete registration details: choose the workshop option and insert attendee registration name for each child registered before making payment.
